Artist : Faust
Country : Argentina
Release : Suenos Eternos
Year : 1996
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 192

Info:

FAUST was a Hard Rock band, which existed a long time, but never had an influence in the scene. They were founded under the name DOKTOR FAUST. They recorded 3 demos, which were also sold together under the name "Nesesitamos mas Rock & Roll". In 1990 they could release one song at the "Metalicos" compilation. In the same year they recorded also a full album. It was suppose to be called "Chicos en la calle", and there was already promotion and advertisement for it. But then something typical Argentine happened. CDs were not fabricated in Argentina at this time. But the production of the plastic for the vinyl records was already stopped! So the company layed them on ice! Only in 1992 they found a new company, and recorded 2 songs more and released it under the new name "La Marca". They had a lot of changes of the drummer, one of them was Duke, who plays today with KHEFREN. They were live only active in the Buenos Aires area and on the coast. With bigger bands they played not really, only the concert with the Brazilian band FIREBOX was something special. In 1996 they hired a keyboarder and recorded the album "Suenos Eternos". But they did not find a company. Finally Singer Claudio Vattino left the band in 1999, what was seems to have been the end.

Artist : Orphan
Country : Canada
Release : Lonely At Night/Salute
Year : 2003
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 192

Info:

Throughout, Lonely at Night maintains the same spooky sense as "Lunatic Fringe" by fellow Canadians Red Rider. Even when the musical and lyrical tension briefly lets up on the haunted ballad "Miracle," the lonely longing in the center of the record still tremors through lead singer Chris Burke's vexatious vocals. Blazing and blistering guitar pumps blood into "All Over the World" as well as keeping the obsessive love stories "She Told Me" and "Any Time at All" from disintegrating into Cure cast-offs. Clean, mainstream production (handclaps, chunky riffs) forces all the compositions into the light. Unfortunately, this aptly titled band disappeared back into the endless night of the '80s.

Artist : Motorhead
Country : UK
Release : Hammered
Year : 2002
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Since 1975 Motörhead--spearheaded by the grungy, iconic British metalhead Lemmy Kilmister--has been churning out speedy, macho, aggro anthems, including "Ace of Spades," "Killed by Death," and "Eat the Rich." The phrases "trendy" or "critical favorites" have never been attached to the Grammy-nominated band, and Hammered isn't the record to change Motörhead's antiestablishment standing. The 11-song outing (plus two bonus tracks) will, however, satiate longtime fans. The power trio rages--complete with piercing guitar solos and double-bass drums--on the urgent and winning "Brave New World," and is only slightly more mainstream on "Walk a Crooked Mile," which boasts melodic choruses and backup vocals, and crunchy rhythms matched with Lemmy's trademark gruff, guttural talk-singing. Lemmy's no sex symbol, and it's disquieting to hear him sing somewhat romantic lyrics on "Dr. Love" and "Mine All Mine." The songs like "No Remorse" and "Voices from the War" seem more suited to the singer-bassist's brusque persona. In fact, Hammered's most definitive Motörhead-esque cut is probably the bloody "Red Raw," which will give all but the most practiced headbangers whiplash.

Artist : Kreator
Country : Germany
Release : Terrible Certainty/Out Of The Dark... Into The Light [Remastered]
Year : 1987
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

After destroying eardrums worldwide with Endless Pain and Pleasure to Kill, Kreator unleashed Terrible Certainity, a record which quite possibly is Germany's quintessential thrashterpiece. All elements are represented here... chaotic drumming, precise riffage, apocalyptic lyrics and Mille's razorblade vocal delivery... not to mention great cover art and excellent songwriting.
Much more refined and smoothed over than previous releases, Terrible Certainity still remains caustic, with songs like Storming With Menace and the title track thrashing hard enough to rip any wayward metalhead a new one. The fretwork is technical without being pretentious and every song is a keeper.

Artist : Pantera
Country : USA
Release : Projects In The Jungle
Year : 1984
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Just about every metal fan knows the name Pantera. The Texas-based band was a huge metal presence in the `90s. In a decade when metal's popularity was in decline, the heavy, thrashing Pantera became almost a household name. What's less well-known is that the band had been active since the early `80s, recording a series of albums in the glam/hair metal style before releasing their 1990 breakthrough Cowboys From Hell.
Originally released in 1984, Projects in the Jungle was the band's second album. Like 1983's Metal Magic, Projects in the Jungle is essentially a glam metal album. The young band was clearly influenced by KISS, as well as some of the flashier L.A. bands. They sound a bit like Keel and King Kobra here. If you're a glam metal fan, this is actually a pretty good album. The songs are cheesy, but the guitar work is pretty sweet and the production is worlds better than the debut. Terry Glaze's high-pitched wailing takes some getting used to, though. Like all the early Pantera albums, Projects in the Jungle has some very cheesy, very amateur cover artwork.

Artist : Pantera
Country : USA
Release : Metal Magic
Year : 1983
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This was the true debut album of Pantera. For those of you who are new to the band or just simply heard of Pantera, are only familiar with the 90s albums and Reinventing the Steel, but they go all the way to 1981. So this album had all the glam metal that KISS started. This album has some really good songs but most of them you have to pay attention to the instruments because the lyrics are just lame. The best song on this entire album is it's title track, Metal Magic, which is more thrashy than any other song on this record. The problem with this album (and the other albums with the band's first vocalist Terry Glaze) is that most of these songs are mostly about what most 80s hair/glam metal bands would sing about: Girls, Making Love, being a couple, etc.

Artist : Iron Maiden
Country : UK
Release : Reading Festival '82
Year : 1982
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 256

Info:

Even if you were not a huge Maiden fan in the 80s this CD is really worth getting. This is not a simple live concert, but a well played set-list that highlights the Number of the Beast album from beginning to end.

Artist : Jennifer Rush
Country : USA
Release : Jennifer Rush [International Version]
Year : 1984
Genre : Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This album is pure eighties heaven! As soon as the opening bars of `Madonna's Eyes' start I'm transported back to my childhood. This album is synthesizer heavy as you would expect from this era and the songs are catchy as anything. Jennifer Rush's powerful voice shines through on every track and highlights for me are `25 lovers' and `I See A Shadow (Not a Fantasy)', although the whole album is very strong overall. This is a short album by today's standard, but perfectly crafted and although many will buy this for `Power of Love' alone, they may well be surprised by how good the rest is. A great slice of eighties pop/rock from an underrated and overlooked artist. Well worth a try.

Artist : Johnny Hates Jazz
Country : UK
Release : Turn Back The Clock [Reissue]
Year : 1988
Genre : Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This album is a true melodic pop/rock masterpiece. All ten tracks are outstanding, all containing catchy hooks and choruses and magnificent melodies. An essential pop album in my book. This album is definitely a rare breed...I only wish there were more like it. My favorite track is "Don't Say It's Love," followed by "What Other Reason," "Shattered Dreams," "Don't Let It End This Way," and "Different Seasons." The other five are great too. All smooth and emotional. Brilliant. You can't go wrong with this purchase. Once again, pure melodic pop BLISS.

Artist : Kiss
Country : USA
Release : Creatures Of The Night [Remastered]
Year : 1982
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Highly recommended, especially now that it is finally remastered with a better mix and the original cover artwork. Even the non-remaster cranks. Gene is demonic-sounding as ever on tracks like "Killer," "Rock and Roll Hell," "I Love It Loud," and "War Machine." Paul gets a bit funky on "Keep Me Comin'" but cooler heads prevail on the notoriously heavy title track. Only letdown is that dreaded power ballad-type-thing goin' down with "I Still Love You."

Artist : Pink Cream 69
Country : Germany
Release : Live In Karlsruhe [Japan Edition]
Year : 2009
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

As most are aware, Pink Cream 69 is the German Hard rock/Melodic Metal formed in the late 80s which managed to forge a successful career during the `90s and `00s. This, their latest release sees the band captured live in their hometown of Karlsruhe on a 2CD set celebrating their 20th anniversary. The first thing that unavoidably hits the listener is the album's faultless production; Not only are the instruments captured in great clarity but also the production offers huge drum sound (which is relatively hard to capture live).
