Unless you were growing up in the San Francisco area during the 80's, unsigned band Allied Nation probably wouldn't mean a lot to you. Until now that is. This band prowled the Bay Area from San Rafael down to San Jose, and shared the stage with many budding hair metal and melodic rock acts of the era. Unlike some of their contemporaries, Allied Nation did not obtain a record deal. A shame really, as these guys had some superlative material going. In fact, it seemed that the popular press for this band was coming from the UK and Europe. I remember reading about them in BLVD, and of course they made the line-up for the 'Hot Night In The City' LP compilation from 1989, with their well known track 'Find Yourself Another Fool'. Allied Nation was formed by the duo of Anthony Martinez and Jeff Nation, with bassist Mike Welinske in close attendance. The band went through numerous lead guitarists through their 80's run, most of which are included on this special CD, along with bonus tracks and a video.
