Original rap metal from the 80's and one of the treasured? items in my collection. You can be certain everything is "Quite Not Right" here, with the approach of rap lyrics set upon a foundation of hard rock rhythms and plenty of guitars. Lyrically amusing, irreverent in a light-hearted manner, and excellent bending of the sound of the guitars and percussion to fit the mood throughout the songs. You can hear a perfect example listening to the "bells" sound built into the percussion and the "bent" guitar sound, courtesy of Rick Derringer, appearing in the video (link below) of "X-Mass Rap". The cover of BTO's "Takin' Care Of Business" may sound like a classic being thrashed to some, but they make it their own and have a lot of fun with it... this is not about being taken too seriously. It may not appeal to everyone, but I love this.
Interesting to note this was the then-20 year old Chris Caffery's first record appearance, followed a year later by Dirty Looks' "Turn Of The Screw", longtime involvement with Savatage and Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and numerous other appearances including Dr. Butcher (1994), Sun Red Sun (1997, 1999), Metalium (1999), Joe Lynn Turner (1998, 2003), Circle II Circle (2003), Doro (2002, 2005), John West (2002, 2006), Metal Church and Sandalinas (2008), Tim "Ripper" Owens (2009), and Minuetem (2010).
