One of the most interesting recordings in the Krokus discography, Stampede was not at all timely, but with its distinctly non-Krokus lineup -- including the derivative but talented vocalist Peter Tanner -- this 1990 release works as well or better than many of the band's more recognized offerings. Like his predecessor, Marc Storace, Tanner supremely rips off an AC/DC vocalist. But there's a catch; on tracks like the tragically titled "Rock and Roll Gypsy" the singer apes Brian Johnson instead of Bon Scott (whom Storace plagiarized famously).
