Cleveland AOR outfit FAIR WARNING's sole album was produced by Mark Avsec of BREATHLESS and DONNIE IRIS fame. The group's roots lay in a Disco outfit dubbed LE FLAVOUR, scoring a 1980 mainstream hit with the song 'Mandolay', put out by local label Sweet City Records and also produced by Avsec. The producer and LE FLAVOUR prepared a second album for MCA Records but with the label's judgement that Disco was on the decline, a fresh musical stance was taken and the FAIR WARNING title adopted.
The solitary FAIR WARNING album is of interest for boasting the first known recording of the track 'She Don't Know Me'. The song was covered by PETER EMMETT on his 'The Peter Emmett Story' release, but was popularized by BON JOVI when the New Jersey troupe recorded it for their infamous debut album in 1983.
Shortly after MCA lost interest in the group they reverted back to LA FLAVOUR
