Guild Of Ages - One (1998)

Danny Martinez - vocals, guitars
Anthony 'Antz' Trujillo - guitars, keyboards
Jim Lostetter - bass
Steve Stuntz - drums

This is Caught In The Act (or C.I.T.A as they became known as) Part II. Rebadged as the newly named Guild Of Ages, this album 'One' is a highly impressive slice of melodic metal. This is a continuation of the two prior C.I.T.A albums 'Act I-Relapse Of Reason' released in 1995 and the follow up 'Heat Of Emotion' from 1996. The style and approach being similar, though the dynamics have certainly been given a lift in the production stakes, the guitar certainly more upfront this time around. The jury's still out as to whether this band is as original as many critics claim it to be, or a clone and tribute of their eighties heroes Axe. If you consider the help and assistance afforded GOA by the likes of Axe members Bobby Barth and Edgar Riley Jnr it would come as no surprise. For those C.I.T.A/GOA fans who think otherwise then I suggest you open up your eyes and ears and backtrack on a little history with Axe's discography.
