Release Title : Gems
Release Year : 1988
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

When paired with the better-known "Greatest Hits", "Gems" is the second half on an excellent primer to pre-comeback Aerosmith. However, much like any compilation package, this is only supposed to begin the journey. The ideal end result for the label is that you purchase more old Aerosmith albums. And, honestly, that's what you should do. In the interests of space (the album only clocks in at 53 minutes, average length by 1988 standards), a number of classic Aerosmith songs have been left off - there is no "Big Ten-Inch Record", "Seasons Of Wither", or "No More, No More" on here. But "Gems" is what it is - a jumping-off point for the Aerosmith novice, and a boarding pass for an amazing journey.

Info:

THE BAND: Steven Tyler (vocals, piano, harmonica), Joe Perry (guitars), Brad Whitford (guitars), Tom Hamilton (bass), Joey Kramer (drums & percussion).
12 tracks clocking in at just under 51 minutes. Included with the disc is a 14-page booklet containing band pictures, song credits, song lyrics, and thank you's. Recorded and mixed at the Bone Yard (South Shore, MA). Label - Columbia.
There are two types of Aerosmith. The 1st is the hard rocking raunch & roll band from Sunapee, NH... wrote great songs during the 1970's because they wanted to and that's what they loved doing... whether they got paid big bucks or not. The 2nd is the commercially successful corporate american business version of the band. Depending on which Aero you like - this will either be middle of the road noise, or it will be wonderful music to your ears. Aerosmith is growing - they are keeping up with the times and incorporating the sounds that are popular today. You will hear drum loops and even rap ("Just Push Play") present.

Here at last is the Iconic outfit's single-disc greatest hits compilation. Add to this mouth-watering synthesis a pair of new-recorded Aerosmith tunes, and you've got the answer to every Aerosmith fan's feverish dream.

Artist : Aerosmith
Artist Origin : USA
Release Title : Nine Lives
Release Year : 1998
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The first half of the album rocks the hardest with songs like 'Nine Lives' 'Falling In Love' 'Somethings Gotta Give' and 'Taste of India'. The second half of the album is a little less hard but still kicks the [crud]out of most any other album of the 90's. This album does have an unusual amount of ballads, even for Aerosmith but its all good, you wount find a flaw. Steven Tylers voice is the best voice you will ever hear and he shows that of well hear. Joe Perry plays slide on all but to tracks (Nine Lives, Falling In Love) and he pulls it off extremly well, I think he is the most underrated slide guitar player ever.

Artist Origin : USA
Release Title : O,Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits
Release Year : 2002
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

As the sixth domestic Aerosmith hits collection and the first to feature selections from both their Columbia and Geffen years (not to mention that it's the second double-disc retrospective released within eight months), The Ultimate Aerosmith Hits should live up to its title -- and it does, for the most part. Over the course of two discs and 30 songs, almost all the heavy-hitters are hauled out, from "Mama Kin" to "Jaded," including both versions of "Walk This Way." Some of the songs are presented in a remixed form -- "Draw the Line," "Pink," "Just Push Play" -- but all of the new mixes are good, possibly even improvements, and the new song, "Girls of Summer," is strong (its companion, "Lay It Down," isn't as noteworthy).

Artist : Aerosmith
Artist Origin : USA
Release Title : Classics Live!
Release Year : 1986
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

You get classic tunes like "Dream On" as well as lesser known masterpieces such as "Kings and Queens." However, for a band that has such a high reputation on the stage, they can do better than this. And they have. "Live Bootleg" as well as all other live albums since have surpassed "Classics Live 1" just based on the energy put into it.
The problem with the production of this record was that it was recorded msotly during the band's dark years of the early 80s. As a result, you don't get the classic lineup on most of the tunes. Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay are no match for Perry/Whitford. You really feel the difference on this record. It shows you what the basis of Aerosmith's sound is all about and how this album doesn't contain it.

Release Title : Classics Live! II
Release Year : 1987
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Classics Live! II mainly features tracks recorded at a New Year's Eve show in 1984, with all five original members once again reunited. The other two tracks were the first track of 1985s Done with Mirrors, "Let the Music Do the Talking", and a rendition of 1977s "Draw the Line" from California Jam II.

Artist : Aerosmith
Artist Origin : USA
Release Title : Night In The Ruts
Release Year : 1979
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

During the year it took the band to record this album, a lot of activity was happening behind the scenes. Not only was the band still over indulging in drugs and alcohol but Joe Perry and Steven Tyler were having major disputes between them, causing Perry to walk away from the band in 1979 after a concert performance. Even though most of Perry’s guitar parts had already been recorded, Aerosmith still had to acquire the services of a couple session guitarists to complete the album, Jimmy Crespo and Richie Supa. Crespo became Joe Perry’s official replacement from 1979-1984. The session guitarist’s parts are very hard to detect, you would have to be a seasoned expert to notice the differences . Aerosmith ran out of money while recording this album, therefore, went back on tour while the album was in production, which in turn set the release date very late in 1979. This album also had a new producer, selected by Columbia Records, Gary Lyons. Despite all the difficulties and personnel changes the band had during the making of “Night in the Ruts”, the album still came off the presses as one of the fastest selling albums, and hit a decent spot on the charts, but fell off the charts very quickly. I personally find the album to be a hidden gem from Aerosmith. They have learned how to take a chaotic mess and turn it into something enjoyable to listen to. I find “Night in the Ruts” to be an inspirational album.

Live! Bootleg is a double live album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released in 1978.

Release Title : Draw The Line
Release Year : 1977
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Draw the Line is the fifth album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released December 1, 1977. The album was recorded in an abandoned convent near New York City, rented out for that purpose.

The portrait of the band was drawn by the celebrity caricaturist Al Hirschfeld.

Kerrang! magazine listed the album at No. 37 among the "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time"

TRACKLIST:

Artist : Aerosmith
Artist Origin : USA
Release Title : Get Your Wings
Release Year : 1974
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

By 'Get Your Wings', Aerosmith began to sound more and more like the band that produced classic songs like "Walk This Way" and "Back In The Saddle". Steven Tyler's singing voice began to take on the high-pitched, over-the-top sound that made him one of the most identifiable singers in rock n' roll. Aerosmith even began to branch out their songs, playing more original, experimental, and darker tracks that distinguished them from other blues and Led Zeppelin clones. "Same Old Song And Dance", an Aerosmith classic, pits distorted, kick ass blues guitar against Stephen Tyler's energetic, in-your-face singing. "Lord of Your Thighs" is a slower, percussive hard rock track that is very dark and gritty. "Spaced" is a "spacy" rock track, with an emotional, trippy verse, complete with "epic" sounding guitar work. Definitely one of Aerosmith's most different and inspired songs.

Release :    Toys In The Attic
Year :          1975
Genre :      Hard Rock
File Type :   mp3 320

Info:

After nearly getting off the ground with Get Your Wings, Aerosmith finally perfected their mix of Stonesy raunch and Zeppelin-esque riffing with their third album, Toys in the Attic. The success of the album derives from a combination of an increased sense of songwriting skills and purpose. Not only does Joe Perry turn out indelible riffs like "Walk This Way," "Toys in the Attic," and "Sweet Emotion," but Steven Tyler has fully embraced sleaziness as his artistic muse. Taking his cue from the old dirty blues "Big Ten Inch Record," Tyler writes with a gleeful impishness about sex throughout Toys in the Attic, whether it's the teenage heavy petting of "Walk This Way," the promiscuous "Sweet Emotion," or the double-entendres of "Uncle Salty" and "Adam's Apple."
