After being dumped across the country by his former band mates in
Metallica, Dave Mustaine was, understandably, pretty angry After all, he
had the most writing credits on the band's first album and Metallica
was doing exceedingly well in the metal underground. Oh and he was stuck
in New York. He vowed to get revenge on his ex-band mates (somehow),
and as luck would have it, Dave found himself a new band. The band was
to be called Megadeth and which eventually included Chris Poland on
guitars, David Ellefson on bass guitar, and Gar Samuelson on drums. 1985
rolled around and Megadeth released its debut album, Killing is My
Business... Poor production qualities plagued the record, but it was
fairly successful none the less. Fast-forward some 17 years and here we
have Dave Mustaine, agreeing to fix the mistakes of the band's past and
remastering the album.

you're a veteran Megadeth fanatic and own all of their albums, then the
group's entry into the budget-priced Extended Versions series can be
skipped over, as it's an edited version of their 2002 release, Rude
Awakening. But the ten tracks that reside on this shorter release are
arguably the best of the full-length version, so you almost can look at
Extended Versions as a best-of Rude Awakening. Recorded in late 2001,
the show captures the group just before their first breakup (only to see
Dave Mustaine carry on the Megadeth name -- with a whole new cast of
characters -- a few years later). And despite this lineup's lifeline
fast approaching its conclusion at this stage of the game, Megadeth
sounds on fire throughout, especially on flawless renditions of such
classics as "Wake Up Dead," "In My Darkest Hour," "Hanger 18," "Symphony
of Destruction," and "Peace Sells." Proof that at one stage, Megadeth
was one of metal's tightest attractions.

"Symphony of Destruction" is a song by American heavy metal band
Megadeth, released as a single from their 1992 album, Countdown to
Extinction. The lyrics explore the hypothetical situation where an
average citizen is placed in a position where he runs the country while
the public is led by a phantom government. Penned by vocalist and
frontman Dave Mustaine, the song received significant radio play and
charted in various territories, making it one of Megadeth's best known
songs.

1 is nothing more than the Japanese release of 'Cryptic Writings'. The
2nd disc on the other hand, is called 'Live Trax II', and was recorded
in Phoenix, AZ (a.k.a. Megadeth, AZ), right before the release of
'Cryptic Writings'.
The show was recorded in a smaller venue, so you
feel as though they are performing a special show just for you. It is a
great performance, and the love songs consist of:
1) Almost Honest 2) A Toute Le Monde 3) Sweating Bullets 4) Symphony Of Destruction 5) Anarchy In The U.K.
And
then there are 2 remixes which I could care less about of 'Almost
Honest'. If you have to have only one of the 2 Live Trax CDs, get the
1st.
But, if your like me and cannot get enough live Megadeth, get this CD!
