A reasonably popular Hannover based band formed by Peter Knorn in
1973, FARGO proved popular on the German touring circuit, well known for
Knorn's habit of onstage somersaults - bass and all - and supported the
likes of AC/DC and APRIL WINE in their time. At one stage FARGO
included one Matthias Jabs in the line-up, but the guitarist left to
join the SCORPIONS in 1978 and was superseded by Hanno Grossman.
The
band's first album, 'Wishing Well', was issued through the Crystal label
in 1979 and produced by Klaus Hess and ELOY's Frank Bornemann, the
latter proclaiming in the cover notes that "FARGO, Das ist Rock 1979"!
Second
outing 'No Limit' found the group signed to EMI's Harvest label, Ede
Schicke playing drums on two tracks in place of an ailing Franky Tolle.
Bornemann co-produced the record with the band.
