Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Tempo Of The Damned [Japan Edition]
Year : 2004
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

By the time EXODUS split up in the early '90s, they had all but lost their steam, their latter-day recorded output serving as little more than a painful reminder of the fact that the band would never recapture the magic that had made their first couple of efforts such classics in the thrash metal genre. The group's last studio album, 1992's "Force of Habit", was a decent enough effort that died a quick death at the hands of Capitol Records, who had effectively given up on the band after their failure to capitalize on their early sales potential.
Although it would be another five years before EXODUS would reunite with original singer Paul Baloff to record the now-classic live album "Another Lesson In Violence" (one of the greatest "live" albums ever made, in this writer's humble opinion), the band's legend never faded away, with many extreme metal acts citing the group's precision-like delivery and riff-laden approach as a major influence (just ask the likes of KREATOR, AT THE GATES or any of the current purveyors of the ever-popular Swedish "Gothenburg" sound).
Seven years later, EXODUS - still mourning the loss of Baloff, who passed away in February 2002 after suffering a massive stroke - have been rejoined by Baloff's replacement, Steve "Zetro" Souza, and have delivered an inspired and impressive comeback album that stays true to the band's pioneering sound while sounding fresh enough to avoid coming across like a mere rehash.
Aided in no small part by the crystal-clear, flawless production of British metal producer extraordinaire Andy Sneap, "Tempo of the Damned" opens with several tracks that can only be described as "typical EXODUS".

Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Let There Be Blood
Year : 2008
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

It has become a trend in the last decade for bands with a long history to go back and re-record old albums, or a collection of old songs with their newer line-ups. Anthrax, Twisted Sister, Saint, Testament, Loudness, Molly Hatchet, Exciter, Sodom, Grave Digger, etc. have all recorded projects like this. Likewise, Exodus have now re-recorded their classic debut "Bonded By Blood," in memory of original Paul Baloff who passed away in 2002. Of course no long-time fan will ever admit to liking the re-recording as much as the original. Those old recordings, no matter how poorly they were recorded, captured a magic moment in time. Nostalgia is certainly a hard thing to get around, especially for die-hard metal fans who fondly embrace metal's past. It seems that is certainly the case with Exodus.

Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Exhibit B: The Human Condition [Japan Edition]
Year : 2010
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Things get off fairly strong start with “The Ballad Of Leonard And Charles,” a seven-minute track displaying an arsenal of machine gun riffs and shredding guitar solos from Gary Holt and Lee Altus. An equally long song "Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)" is one of the standout cuts on the album. This song in particular is pure speed, pure aggression, pure thrash metal! "Downfall" sounds like classic Exodus to me. Had this song had a more organic production and was included on "Pleasures of the Flesh" I doubt anyone would have been the wiser. "Nanking" slows things down slightly from the usual frantic pace and offers a slightly more progressive feel, especially at it's opening.

Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Exhibit A: The Atrocity Exhibition
Year : 2007
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The mighty thrash metal machine that is Exodus returns with their second album with vocalist Rob Dukes and their third since reforming. Stylistically, "The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A" is not that far off from "Shovel Headed Kill Machine". Modern day Exodus combine pummeling guitar riffs, thick modern production by Andy Sneap, and a mixture of fast and mid-paced tempos to create a modern thrash metal monster. One of the things I have always like about Exodus is that despite their aggression, they know how to write songs that are memorable. They don't completely forsake catchy song writing for speed or aggression.

Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Bonded By Baloff
Year : 2002
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Awesome bootleg collection. The first seven songs feature the Baloff-ra of Exodus performing live at Studio 54 in New York City. The sound quality isn't bad for a bootleg and is most likely a soundboard recording. This CD is worth owning for these tracks alone. Tracks 8-10 are studio, demo recordings with Baloff on vocals. Songs 11-12 are live from 1983 with Kirk Hammet on guitar. On the insert Kirk is listed as Kirk Hammer. The last songs is a demo track also featuring Mr. Kirk Hammer. This CD is mandatory listening for Exodus die-hards and thrash maniacs.

Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Bonded By Blood [Reissue]
Year : 1985
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

When talking about the Great Thrash Movement of the 80's, this disc arguably, is the 2nd most influential thrash record ever made (right next to "Reign In Blood" by Slayer). A seriously punishing slab of thrash, "Bonded By Blood" was released in late '85 and immediately set the underground ablaze. The dual guitar team of Gary Holt and Rick Hunolt rips the listener to shreds with a barrage of lethal, adrenaline fueled riffs. While the riff style is similar to that of early "Kill 'em All" Metallica, (Kirk Hammett was Exodus' guitarist before joining Metallica), the songs themselves are overloaded with riff after riff of pure anger. Paul Bailoff, the lead singer, also lays down a torrid wave of vocal hatred that is utterly intense.

Artist : Exodus
Country : USA
Release : Pleasures Of The Flesh [Limited Silver Edition]
Year : 1987
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Exodus is the most underrated thrash metal band of all time. They started out promising and darker than Metallica and Slayer. However, after Fabulous Disaster they got too goofy and weird. Eventually they drifted away into oblivion. Nonetheless, they're back. And although this review is not about their return, it's still good to now that this album was monumental in the uprising of Exodus. This album is a classic, and it is a requisite for all thrash metal fans. Like their previous effort, Bonded By Blood, every song is full of vigor, energy and pure brutality. Rarely is there a band that puts high energy to every song in their album.
