 VH1 Classic Metal Mania: Stripped is the first of many upcoming VH1 Classic products. The songs on the CD are acoustic versions of some of the biggest ballads from your favorite hair bands and were gathered from imports, live recordings and hard to find albums. Some of the songs included on the album are Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and Queenrysche's "Silent Lucidity" from MTV Unpled, Scorpions "Wind Of Change" from Acoustica Live, a live acoustic version of Tesla's "The Way It Is," a solo performance of "Miles Away" by Kip Winger and an acapella version of "More Ethan Words" from Extreme. There are also six brand new acoustic recordings from artists such as Night Ranger, Cinderella, White Lion and Great White.
VH1 Classic has embraced the oft-slammed hair-metal brigade both with their television programming support and this continuing CD series. STRIPPED VOL. 3 cherry-picks a poppy slab of previously recorded tracks (both live and studio versions) given the unpled treatment. New recordings round out the set, including the pared-down duo of Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades paying homage to their days in Damn Yankees, a solo acoustic performance by Kip Winger, and former Mr. Big vocalist Eric Martin singing his heart out on one the band's requisite torch-song power ballads.
