Joe Lamont, we first heard of this guy with the band *Steeplechase* and then the wonderful AOR outfit *Shelter*. A typical seventies pomp band with overblown tendencies. His surname was slightly different then, known by his real name of Joe Lamente. What hasn't changed is his love of melodic music, and you can tell this guy knows a thing or two about superb melodies and hard rocking music; both culminating on this fine 1985 release on the big CBS/Epic label. Of course it always helps when you have quality musicians like Dann Huff and Vinny Colauita behind you, the album taking on a quite brash sound not dissimilar to the material of *Van Stephenson* for instance. Interestingly, the production team of Bunetta and Chudacoff were better known from their dealings with West Coast/AORster *Robbie Dupree*, though the music here is nothing similar to Dupree's work. As it is one of those albums which has yet to see the light of day on CD, the quality of the songs must surely see this as a contender for re-release at some point in the future.
