Founded in Ardal in Norway 1977 by Svein Dag Hauge (guitars) and Per Hillestad (drums), and was in the very beginning an instrumental jazz / rock band. The debut album "LAVA" was published in 1979. From album # 2 "Cruisin" (1981) bassplayer and keyboardplayer quit and new musicians came in: Rolf Graf (bass), Per Kolstad (keyboards), Sigurd Kohn (saxophone), Marius Muller (guitar). Egil Eldoen (vocals) teamed up with the band in 1982. LAVA has released 10 albums.
