Corin & Edman - Roc De Light (2006)

Artist : Corin & Edman
Country : Sweden
Release : Roc De Light
Year : 2006
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This is a West Coast project from keyboardist Claes Corin and singing maestro Goran Edman. Considering the lack of West Coast releases these days, this one sort of slipped by the radar, but we managed to snag it before it disappeared. This is actually velvet smooth stuff, but veers too much to the pop side. Unlike the genre, this is not as over-produced as some other well known albums, and this reason alone, probably lends it some charm. The stripped back nature of it all, with ambient piano and subtle synth layers is an ideal accompaniment to that late nite latte, the stray blonde in the red dress, along with the warm and inviting jacuzzi. Yeah right! A few guests turn up to play, but overall it is the Claes and Goran show.

Count Raven - Mammons War (2009)

Artist : Count Raven
Country : Sweden
Release : Mammons War
Year : 2009
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The fact that Count Raven plays solid traditional prototypical doom is just as true as the notion of the wheels of doom never seizing to grind. Black Sabbath left a lasting impression on many a band and Count Raven did not escape their earthly seal. Until the title track made its appearance almost midway through Mammons War, the formula in just about every song was to introduce a simple effective rocking riff early and build the whole song around it. Whether this riff is more middle-Eastern sounding (Nashira) or is more cathedral resonating with all of the bells and weeps (Scream), the elastic stretchy guitars carry the day. The chorus, and sometimes the lead, brings more melody into the picture as “welcome to the other side” line does in The Entity.

Vanden Plas - Beyond Daylight (2002) [Limited Edition]

Artist : Vanden Plas
Country : Germany
Release : Beyond Daylight [Limited Edition]
Year : 2002
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

When I first heard Vanden Plas' second studio album The God Thing, I thought that was the top of the line. It was simply a mindblowing album that blew me away with its content, the amazing musicianship, and cerebral lyrics. While I thought the following album Far Off Grace was still a worthwhile effort, I felt it paled in comparison to its predecessor. But I wasn't disappointed; I just didn't believe they would ever surpass the beauty of The God Thing.
But today, after having listened to Beyond Daylight for almost a year, I am eating my words. This is the best prog metal album of 2002 after Pain of Salvation's Remedy Lane (which is another masterpiece in its own league). Beyond Daylight is an album wonderfully easy to enjoy. Fans who know nothing of Vanden Plas or prog metal can still be drawn into this album after hearing only a few songs. But there is more to this wonderful album. The further it is explored the more it offers.

Malison Rogue - Malison Rogue (2011)

Artist : Malison Rogue
Country : Sweden
Release : Malison Rogue
Year : 2011
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This CD by Malison Rogue is HOT !!! Forget Iron Maiden or King Diamond, it's easy to hear the huge influence of Queensryche in this band. The band itself is very very solid and the lead singer tho not as accomplished as Geoff Tate is very good at his task. Being a huge Queensryche fan I hear alot of their earlier sound i.e. The Warning and Rage for Order in Malison Rogue's debut CD and I'm lovin' every second of it. If this band stays together and stays on track, I am looking forward to hearing great music from Malison Rogue for many years to come.

George Lynch - Will Play For Food (2001)

Artist : George Lynch
Country : USA
Release : Will Play For Food
Year : 2001
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Although I'am a 80's metal thrash head (metallica like lover) I do love virtuouso guitar work, and I must say...even though george lynch who is coming from a 80's hair metal band dokken, this man can truly rip a new a-hole to his listeners with his attack on the axe. I also have sacred grooove which I like a little more but with 3 instrumental tracks and a awesome version of Ozzy and the late Randy Rhoads' 'Mr.Crowley' he definitely does justice to the song. Also in reading his booklet he has comments on each song which is cool.
