Artist : Majesty (Pre-Dream Theater) Country : USA Release : The Majesty Demos 1985-1986 Year : 1986 Genre : Heavy Metal File Type : mp3 320 Info:
The Majesty Demos are the first recorded attempts of progressive metal
band Dream Theater, under their original name, Majesty. The original
1986 tape contained six tracks which were recorded on Mike Portnoy's
analog 4-track recorder, and another 4-track recorder obtained from
friends at Berklee College of Music. All the band members were about 19
years old at the time of the recording. Only 1,000 copies were recorded
on cassette tape and distributed to fans and rock and metal magazines.
Portnoy gave one copy to Jim Matheos of Fates Warning, a move that was
instrumental in the band's break into the progressive rock scene. The
line-up on the initial recording was keyboardist Kevin Moore, bassist
John Myung, guitarist John Petrucci, and drummer Mike Portnoy. Chris
Collins, the band's singer at the time, had been introduced to the band
after a friend heard a demo of him singing a note-for-note version of
Queensryche's "Queen of the Reich".
TRACKLIST:Artist : Foreigner Country : USA Release : 4 [Remastered] Year : 1981 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
Over the course of their first three late-'70s albums, Foreigner had
firmly established themselves (along with Journey and Styx) as one of
the top AOR bands of the era. But the band was still looking for that
grand slam of a record that would push them to the very top of the heap.
Released in 1981, 4 would be that album. In producer Robert John "Mutt"
Lange -- fresh off his massive success with AC/DC's Back in Black --
guitarist and all-around mastermind Mick Jones found both the catalyst
to achieve this and his perfect musical soulmate. Lange's legendary
obsessive attention to detail and Jones' highly disciplined guitar
heroics (which he never allowed to get in the way of a great song)
resulted in a collaboration of unprecedented, sparkling efficiency where
not a single note is wasted. "Nightlife" is only the first in a series
("Woman in Black," "Don't Let Go," the '50s-tinged "Luanne") of
energetic, nearly flawless melodic rockers, and with "Juke Box Hero,"
the band somehow managed to create both a mainstream hit single and a
highly unique-sounding track, alternating heavy metal guitar riffing,
chorused vocals, and one of the ultimate "wanna be a rock star" lyrics.

great, my favorites are probably: "When The Lights Are Down", "The

"Moonlight". If you haven't heard this album yet, what are you waiting

TRACKLIST:Artist : Ozzy Osbourne Country : UK Release : Blizzard Of Ozz [Reissue] Year : 1980 Genre : Heavy Metal File Type : mp3 320 Info:
Ozzy Osbourne's 1981 solo debut Blizzard of Ozz was a masterpiece of
neo-classical metal that, along with Van Halen's first album, became a
cornerstone of '80s metal guitar. Upon its release, there was
considerable doubt that Ozzy could become a viable solo attraction.
Blizzard of Ozz demonstrated not only his ear for melody, but also an
unfailing instinct for assembling top-notch backing bands. Onetime Quiet
Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads was a startling discovery, arriving here as
a unique, fully formed talent. Rhoads was just as responsible as
Osbourne -- perhaps even more so -- for the album's musical direction,
and his application of classical guitar techniques and scales rewrote
the rulebook just as radically as Eddie Van Halen had. Rhoads could hold
his own as a flashy soloist, but his detailed, ambitious compositions
and arrangements revealed his true depth, as well as creating a sense of
doomy, sinister elegance built on Ritchie Blackmore's minor-key
innovations. All of this may seem to downplay the importance of Ozzy
himself, which shouldn't be the case at all. The music is a thoroughly
convincing match for his lyrical obsession with the dark side (which was
never an embrace, as many conservative watchdogs assumed); so, despite
its collaborative nature, it's unequivocally stamped with Ozzy's
personality. What's more, the band is far more versatile and subtle than
Sabbath, freeing Ozzy from his habit of singing in unison with the
guitar (and proving that he had an excellent grasp of how to frame his
limited voice). Nothing short of revelatory, Blizzard of Ozz deservedly
made Ozzy a star, and it set new standards for musical virtuosity in the
realm of heavy metal.

This is a very rare demo from the Italian band Nanowar. Nanowar is a
hysterical attempt to satirize the power true metal scene with catchy
songs, great musicianship and awesomely funny lyrics. It is no secret
that in this they epically win; Nanowar will make fans and detractors of
the genre alike laugh at all the clichés that plague the scene. In
October 2006 they changed their name to Nanowar Of Steel in response to
Rhapsody's name change to Rhapsody of Fire.

this disc at your own peril; just making Iron Maiden's "Sanctuary" and
"Los Angeles" by X seem almost like the same song is worth the price of

TRACKLIST:Artist : Annihilator Country : Canada Release : All For You Year : 2004 Genre : Heavy Metal File Type : mp3 320 Info:
Over the years, headbangers have learned that lineup changes are an
inevitable part of Annihilator. The band's lineup is likely to change
from one album to the next, and the Annihilator lineup that you're
enjoying today may very well be gone tomorrow. For other bands, all
those personnel changes could be a problem, but leader/founder Jeff
Waters usually knows what he's doing -- and his hands-on approach serves
Annihilator well on All for You. Some might argue that Annihilator
isn't really a band -- that Annihilator is really an ongoing solo
project for Waters, who is very much in the driver's seat on this 2004
release. True to form, Waters wears many hats on All for You; in
addition to writing all of the material, he serves as bassist,
guitarist, producer and arranger. Assistance comes from drummer Mike
Mangini (known for his work with Steve Vai) and Annihilator's new lead
vocalist Dave Padden, who shows himself to be a welcome addition to the
band on Waters' material (most of it forceful thrash metal with some
alternative metal moves at times).

along with the late great drummer Walt Woodward III (The Scream, Sweet

their mainstay phenom drummer Walt Woodward III and the new addition of
bassist Dave Spitz (brother of Anthrax's Dan Spitz and would later play

The fourth addition to Americade's "Americadence" box set is called
"Heroes Are Back" and contains previously unreleased recordings from
sessions during 1984 and 1986. The 1984 sessions were recorded at the
legendary Kaufman Astoria Studio in New York and produced by noted
producer Ben Rizzi. Those songs were intended for a full movie
production called "Electric Prophet" (loosely based on the life of Jimi
Hendrix) which never saw light of day. The 1986 sessions were recorded
at Fred Zarr studios in Brooklyn, NY and features a few tracks with top
session players Fred Zarr on keyboards and Jay Cuccurullo on drums. On
these recordings, you will notice a shift in musical style here, as
Americade moves into more commercial arena-style melodic hard rock / AOR
territory with the use of more keyboards.

Some excellent material on hand here and its great to finally release

feature the incredible pipes of vocalist Mark Weitz (also sang with
Yngwie, Ramos, Eyes) -- these 4 amazing songs are worth the price of

lineup of Walt Woodward III (drums), Dave Spitz (bass) and the De
Marigny brothers and produced by renowned producer JEFF GLIXMAN (Saxon,
Yngwie, Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Kansas++). The track "Black Cloud" is
an awesome cover of the old Glenn Hughes song. Gerard told me a story
that most of his guitar tracks here were recorded through Gary Moore's
guitar rig that was set up in a studio in Atlanta
TRACKLIST:Artist : The Bridge Country : USA Release : Demo Year : 1997 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 192 Info:
Initially, the fact this was *Lillian Axe* related threw me off. Not a
big fan of the metal/hair band thing they had going on, but The Bridge
were an entirely different proposition. Featuring former *Lillian Axe*
vocalist Ron Taylor and multi-instrumentalist Drew Smith, acoustic
driven pop is the order the day. Going electric on cuts like the
excellent 'These Same Skies' and 'Where Do I Belong', embellished by
piano on 'Standing' and violin on the sublime 'Can't Pretend'; albums
like this can often put a listener to sleep like some of the new age pop
stuff that came out in the late '80s, but Taylor and Smith add enough
variety to keep things interesting and their vocal harmonies are spot
on. *Lowen and Navarro* as well as *Mark Spiro*'s 'Care Of My Soul' is a
good point of reference, but The Bridge sound was innovative enough to
separate them from much of what was and what wasn't happening at the
time.

Kiss Alive! 1975–2000 is a collection of live recordings from American
hard rock band Kiss. It was released by Universal Music on November 21,
2006. The Millennium Concert (recorded on December 31, 1999 at BC Place
Stadium in Vancouver, Canada) was originally to be released as Alive IV
in 2000 but because Kiss' parent label Mercury was swallowed by the
Universal/Vivendi merger, Alive IV was shelved.
Universal later
agreed to Kiss using Mercury to release what would become The Millennium
Concert as Alive IV, but then it was shelved indefinitely and the band
would release the Symphony: Alive IV album released on Kiss
Records/Sanctuary Records in 2003. The 72-page booklet that comes with
the set mistakenly credits songwriting for "Cold Gin" to Paul Stanley
instead of Ace Frehley.

Slash Puppet is a little known Canadian band that made some great
music before getting swept under the rug by the grunge invasion.
Formed in Toronto, Ontario by Mif (vocals), Frank Bartoletti (guitar),
Lou Garscadden (guitar), Pete Dove (bass) and Franklin Wyles (drums),
Slash Puppet would play their debut show on October 1989 at Rock 'N'
Roll Heaven. In one short year they managed to win the Toronto Music
Awards' "Best Club Act" and are quickly picked up by Rush's management
and signed to a production deal with Sony/Anthem. The band released
their first video, "Slow Down", to MuchMusic in mid-1991 which helped
sell over 2500 copies of their independent demo. A year later they were
in the studio recording a 6-song EP.
