Metal Church - The Weight Of The World (2004)

Artist : Metal Church
Country : USA
Release : The Weight Of The World
Year : 2004
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Metal Church: One of the most influential and important yet, sadly, most underrated bands to emerge from the 1980's thrash metal circuit. They have been around in some form for over twenty-some years, a long enough time to inspire such hugely influential thrash titans as Slayer and Metallica. And on their seventh full-length, the Washington-based quintet get a little experimental.

Metal Church - A Light In The Dark (2006)

Artist : Metal Church
Country : USA
Release : A Light In The Dark
Year : 2006
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Sadly with the passing of David Wayne in May 2005, Metal Church lost one of it's strengths as Wayne's vocal delivery was unique and very strong.
The new line up consisting of Kurdt Vanderhoof (guitar), Ronny Munroe (vocals), Jay Reynolds (guitar), Steve Unger (bass) and new addition Jeff Plate are all in fine form here. Ronny Munroe has the ability to sound like Wayne at times, yet has the fortitude to establish his own voice as well. The group sounds tight and the tunes are well written.

Metal Church - The Dark (1986)

Artist : Metal Church
Country : USA
Release : The Dark
Year : 1986
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

"The Dark" is simply one of the greatest heavy metal albums ever. As well, "Ton of Bricks" is one of the coolest speed metal songs ever written. This album also features the melodic, epic and emotional track "Watch the Children Pray". "The Dark" should be re-released as a double disc with the first album as they go together so well. These two albums are the very definition of power metal for me. In the 80's, power metal was that style of heavy metal that was too fast and furious to be considered traditional heavy metal, but didn't have that punk edge to make it quite thrash metal either. It wasn't until nearly a decade later that power metal became the dungeons and dragons, keyboard laced music that it is now called.

Metal Church - Hanging In The Balance (1993)

Artist : Metal Church
Country : USA
Release : Hanging In The Balance
Year : 1993
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Hanging in the Balance, released in 1993 followed a brief hiatus for the band in which founding member and guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof perused his side project Vanderhoof. The core sound of Metal Church has always been rooted in Vanderhoof's riffs and although he was no longer in the bands lineup upon the release of this album he remains the primary writer and has credits on every track on the disk other than acoustic instrumental effort ''Lovers & Madmen''. Needless to say the guitar work is still superbly executed and there's a nice variety of string dabbling on show. John Marshall and original axeman Craig Wells mix up the thrashier riffing found on tracks like 'Conductor' and 'Little Boy' with plenty of concise more traditional metal influenced riffs and ample clean, at times even folky sounding passages.
