Nocturnal Rites - Grand Illusion (2005) [Japan Edition]

+
11. Fade Away (Bonus Track)
12. Under The Ice (Bonus Track)

Artist : Nocturnal Rites
Country : Sweden
Release : Grand Illusion [Japan Edition]
Year : 2005
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

They sort of stray from the Heavy guitar sound that carried them in earlier efforts and go for a Dream Theatre keyboard/sound with heavy guitar. I personally think the keyboard addition gives the sound a little more melody and adds some spice. As for the previous reviewers comments on no melody within the choruses or songs, I didn't find it to be true. This is a solid CD with some minor changes that any power/melodic METAL fan will love!! I found it to be a back to the basics CD. everything is simple and to the point! Sometimes you just need a catchy riff some solid drums and a good tune. This CD delivers that. Nothing elaborate, just straight ahead METAL!!!!!

Info:

This effort is pretty much flawless, the production is crushing, guitar work is stellar (as always with N.R.) vocals are even better (and more varied) than their last two CDs, and the bass/drums lay a perfect foundation, locking in with each other and hitting insanely hard... (this CD is LOUD!)

Nocturnal Rites - Shadowland (2002) [Japan Edition]

+
11. The Iron Force (2002 Version) (Bonus Track)

Artist : Nocturnal Rites
Country : Sweden
Release : Shadowland [Japan Edition]
Year : 2002
Genre : Hard Rock Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

SHADOWLAND has a raspy, compressed, raw sounding production and mastering that really gives it an epic and heavy feel. Effects are present, but they are used subtly and with great effect. The guitar sound is extremely heavy, with a clear and warm lead tone. The powerful vocals by Johnny Lindqvist are so spot on and fit the band and their music so well from melodic phrasing to the rhythm of delivery, it's an incredible thing to behold on every listen.

Nocturnal Rites - The 8th Sin (2007) [Japan Edition]

Artist : Nocturnal Rites
Country : Sweden
Release : The 8th Sin [Japan Edition]
Year : 2007
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The 8th Sin, which goes in a more melodic, less epic direction. It's still undeniably a metal album (and not pop metal as some have said), but the songs on The 8th Sin are catchier, melodic in an almost commercial way (as commercial as metal gets, anyway), and have a great `80s energy. I absolutely love this style of metal, so of course I ended up loving this album. The melodies are killer, the songs make you want to sing along, and Jonny Lindqvist does an amazing job on vocals.

Artist : Nocturnal Rites
Country : Sweden

Info:

The Sacred Talisman offers more classic early-'80s power metal grooves and catchy, memorable tunes worthy of the top British metal outfits of yesteryear. Nocturnal Rites may not be innovators, but their enthusiasm for what they do is infectious and well worth the time of any metal fan who thinks that memorable guitar riffs went out with the '80s.

Nocturnal Rites - Tales Of Mystery And Imagination (1997)

Artist : Nocturnal Rites
Country : Sweden
Release : Tales Of Mystery And Imagination
Year : 1997
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Nocturnal Rites are something of an amazing band -- amazing in the sense that they couldn't care less that it's no longer the early '80s, and British/gothic metal is no longer remotely in vogue. Tales of Mystery and Imagination recalls the tightly riffed, classically tinged twin-guitar interplay of bands like Helloween and especially Iron Maiden, in the sci-fi/fantasy lyrics as well as the music. It's a carefully crafted effort that will appeal strongly to fans who, like Nocturnal Rites, still love this particular style of metal regardless of trends.
