TAROT is not only a card game, but also a long time running Heavy Metal band from Finland. The band was founded in the early eighties by the Hietala brothers, Marco and Zachary. The first album "Spell Of Iron" was finally released in 1986. Much later Marco became famous as a member of SINERGY and of course NIGHTWISH, but he never abandoned his "baby band". From time to time with some breaks, for obvious reasons, TAROT have released great albums which have made them a great addition to the metal scene. In 2007, the band signed a deal with Nuclear Blast records and released their best received album up to date: "Crows Fly Black". The first single from the album "You" entered the finnish charts at #1 - the evidence that TAROT are a lot more than only a secondary employment. When you think of the great metal bands to emerge from Finland, it's usually bands like Children of Bodom and Nightwish that come to mind, but it's Tarot that has been carrying the true metal banner in Finland for more than 20 years now.
Originally released in 1988, Follow Me Into Madness was Tarot's second album. The band had a sound that could only be described as "heavy metal". They were clearly influenced by Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, and had a powerful yet melodic, fist in the air, metal sound similar to bands like Overdrive and Warlord. The band still suffered from poor production (and their cover artwork was downright amateur), but you can tell they were improving musically. Zachary Heitala's guitar work in particular is outstanding on this album. There are some incredible riffs and solos on display here.

There are basically no cheesy, cringe-worthy or cliche lyrics here (e.g. "the flames of the fire, burning with desire"). None of the songs sound forced, uninspired or sound like they were thrown together in ten minutes, the riffs are well-crafted and evidently thought out.
