Ten - Far Beyond The World (2001) [Japan Edition]

Artist : Ten
Country : UK
Release : Far Beyond The World [Japan Edition]
Year : 2001
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

With their 2001 album Far Beyond the World, Gary Hughes and Ten strike a balance between the laid back AOR of Name of the Rose and the epic melodic hard rock of The Robe. I tend to prefer their heavier, more epic material, but even I have to admit the band's lighter stuff is still pretty impressive. Ten is considered to be an AOR outfit, although really they are closer to metal than arena rock. The lyrics on this particular album are unusal for Ten, being pure AOR fluff. But the music and especially the vocal melodies on this record are as good as anything Hughes has written. Do not pass on this one. They don't make music like this anymore.

Ten - Spellbound (1999) [Japan Edition]

Artist : Ten
Country : UK
Release : Spellbound [Japan Edition]
Year : 1999
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This record should both surprise and amaze old fans and new.
It should also intimidate any other bands that thought they might have been closing in on the best rock band in Britain crown. The bar has been lifted and no-one is nearly within range of this great disc.
Without going on to much, there is not one area that has not been improved upon by a mile.
Gary's vocals have come to life in a way I have never heard from him. They are powerful, they are loud, they are raw and they are passionate - both with the ballads and the rockers.
They were recorded live and no filters or effects were added. This was a particular habit of Mike Stone. As Mark Ashton said to me - who ever would have thought the sound problem was connected with him?!
The production is monstrous. Hats off to Now & Then Productions for the sound and the mix. Crisp, in your face and big, big, big.
