Artist : Highlord Country : Italy Release : The Warning After Year : 2013 Genre : Heavy Metal File Type : mp3 320 Info:
In comparison to the band, “The Warning After” sounded way more mature,
slightly darker, updated, and less heroic than the nativity of the
past. Not that I have anything against letting the imagination run wild,
while being affected by legends and myths, but sometimes you have to
life the curtain, maybe a few inches up, in order for the listener to
comprehend your messages. Musically, the song changed its tune and
didn’t remain the same. The material didn’t feel loosen, several of the
songs rose above from the one dimensional state of the earlier streams
and seemed more thought over, conditioning the tunes to share a much
broadened collection of ideas. Well, HIGHLORD didn’t cross into a path
of progression, yet there is an evidence for advancement turning into
the later versions of KAMELOT and ANGRA.
Artist : Helloween Country : Germany Release : Straight Out Of Hell [Japan Edition] Year : 2013 Genre : Heavy Metal File Type : mp3 320 Info:
The 14th studio album from venerable German power metal outfit
Helloween kicks off with the blistering "Nabatea," a typically
ambitious, seven-minute epic concerning a kingdom of nomadic,
Mediterranean, peace-loving folks swallowed up by the Roman Empire in AD
106. From there, truncated history lessons are put on the back burner
in favor of a more traditional, Keeper of the Seven Keys-era Helloween
approach, offering up immaculate blasts of impossibly tuneful,
power/neo-classical metal with humor ("Asshole"), apocalyptic glee
("World of War"), and an unapologetic love for all things Iron Maiden
("Far from the Stars"). Brighter, broader, and a good deal lighter in
tone than 2010's ominous 7 Sinners, Straight Out of Hell.
Artist : Corin & Edman Country : Sweden Release : Roc De Light Year : 2006 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
This is a West Coast project from keyboardist Claes Corin and singing
maestro Goran Edman. Considering the lack of West Coast releases these
days, this one sort of slipped by the radar, but we managed to snag it
before it disappeared. This is actually velvet smooth stuff, but veers
too much to the pop side. Unlike the genre, this is not as over-produced
as some other well known albums, and this reason alone, probably lends
it some charm. The stripped back nature of it all, with ambient piano
and subtle synth layers is an ideal accompaniment to that late nite
latte, the stray blonde in the red dress, along with the warm and
inviting jacuzzi. Yeah right! A few guests turn up to play, but overall
it is the Claes and Goran show.
