Lawless Breed (aka Black Label) have signed to German record company EMG Music. Releasing their new album ..'BLOOD MONEY in Berlin October 8th at Europe biggest trade fare Popkomm is an exciting move for the band whom have been largely left to run there own ship in Australia. Recently signing to Blue Tongue Management (The Original Angels Band) and teaming with legendary engineer Greg Clarke (Billy Thorpe, Rose Tattoo, Butterfinger) everything has turned on it..'s head.
Three days before Lawless Breed hit the international airways to Berlin they tour three days in rural South Australia (Mt Gambier and Port Augusta) and Kalgoorlie in Western Australia performing along side The Butterfly Effect, The Screaming Jets and Kevin Borich with son Lucius from COG on The Long Road Tour. The next day they're on the plane to Europe where the band will also showcase their music in Hamburg, Netherlands, Paris and London.
'We have changed direction in more ways than one..' says Steve Mulry (brother of Australian legend Ted Mulry) ..'The name change is due to Zac Wilde..'s band Black Label Society from the USA. We have had Black Label trademarked here but the truth they are huge and no one was taking us serious under that banner. Lawless Breed was about the only name not already being used.... I guess no one else was game to try it.' laughs the bands lead singer 'We also changed music direction edging away from the bluesy rock into a harder four on the floor style Australian Rock. The test results have been very positive and we have gained heaps of interest from Europe in particular Germany'
The biggest hint we were on the right track came from Rose Tattoo..' mentions Geordie (Drums). ..'Coxy (Mick Cocks) and the boys came up to us and were blown away with the new songs. That..'s also when Greg Clarke came straight up and said I want to record you. Thats damn hot rock'
Six months later, after the Tatts toured Europe that included shows with Metallica, the album was recorded at East Street Studio Sydney by Greg Clarke (also co producer), is powered by unadulterated fire brand guitars and filthy hardcore riffs. The guitars are underlined by thunderous rhythms, Australian rock at it’s best.
Vocalist Steve Mulry's voice sears, powerful and Mesmerizing. Blood Money has been created with the same live atmospheric feel and power the band commands at their live concerts.
