Sodom entered Berlin's Musiclab Studios in October of 1987 and layed down the tracks for their blistering second full length "Persecution Mania." German thrash was at this time where the speed and heaviness was at in the pre-death metal era, as Kreator had proved the year before on their seminal "Pleasure to Kill" opus, which was also cut at Musiclab and under the direction of the same producer, Harris Johns. So it's natural that Sodom here recall their countrymen on that record quite a bit, but that's definitely not a bad thing now is it?
