Artist : Anubis Gate
Country : Denmark
Release : A Perfect Forever
Year : 2005
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This album has unbelievably good songs and lyrics, the musicianship is first rate, and thankfully, they have a guitarist that doesn't really shred. What that means is that the guitarist actually thinks of tasteful things to say on the guitar. The voice... that voice... Torben is an incredible singer. A good midrange to upper mid range voice with tons of personality. That said, this is Torben's last effort with this band. The new singer, Jacob Hansen is a good singer, but has a super high, thinner voice, no grit or growl at any time. I far prefer Torben. "A Perfect Forever" is a perfect album!

Artist : Anubis Gate
Country : Denmark
Release : Andromeda Unchained
Year : 2007
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

A magnificent conceptual work that does not stand up under scrutiny, just have to relax on a couch and being carried away by the magic of this amazing music!
After Torben Askholm left the band, seems incredible the change of style that was to include Jacob Hansen as new member of Anubis Gate. Choirs and vocal arrangements are stunning!
And what about Kim Olesen ... his incredible talent and genius as a composer, keyboardist, guitarist, is reflected in all the album tracks.

Artist : Anubis Gate
Country : Denmark
Release : Purification
Year : 2004
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This is their debut and while I do feel that their second album - A Perfect Forever is their magnus opus, Purification is still a damn great album. One of the main reasons that their second album is so much better is simply because of the production. The production on this album is good but the aural quality of their second is far superior.

Artist : Anubis Gate
Country : Denmark
Release : The Detached
Year : 2009
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The music is certainly more intricate & creative than most, but they never seem to loose sight of the goal of creating enjoyable songs. Unlike some metal bands these days (*dragonforce*), they use heavy and complex rhythms, which makes the music more interesting for me. The guitars (both 6 string and 4 string variety) are important to me, since I play guitar myself. They are never dull, but at the same time never self-serving or obnoxious. It seems that the riffs were written to make great music, not feed the musicians' egos. The vocals are also very fitting and enjoyable, you'll find yourself singing along in no time. One final note about the sound: they make use of electronic sounds and times, which I think works well for them.
