Ok I know Krokus weren't the most talented or original band that came
out on the rock scene But who cares what matters is there are some
catchy tunes on this album that get you singing and headbanging isn't
that what 80's rock all about catchy tunes, singable choruses and
crunchy riffs. This album was the first mainstream album that did loose
some of their die hard metal audience just like what happened when
MetallicA released their black album. Anyway there are some goodl Krokus
songs like Our Love (will never die), Rock the Nation, Hot Stuff and
their cover of The Sweet's Ballroom blitz.

Artist : Krokus Country : Switzerland Release : Hellraiser [Japan Edition] Year : 2006 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
In general terms, "Hellraiser" is a very predictable, often
generic-sounding album of hard rock tunes, many of which feature a
moderate pop infusion in the choruses. The best material is also the
most rocking, the title track (also featured in European movie
"Handyman") being the best example of the AC/DC-esque circa 1978 strut —
basic, yet effective riffs and a simple, but catchy chorus. The fact
that singer Marc Storace sound reinvigorated with a voice that reminds
one of the vintage years certainly helps. Cliche or not, "Rocks Off!"
and, to a lesser extent, "No Risk, No Gain" are fun rockers. The
up-tempo "Spirit of the Night" is a decent, '80s metal rocker that
almost approaches the band's heyday. A simple hook, mid-tempo groove, a
slick little guitar harmony break, and a chorus that is pretty darn
catchy make "Too Wired to Sleep" a keeper as well.

Artist : Krokus Country : Switzerland Release : Pay It In Metal Year : 1978 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
Including its original Painkiller Europe-only artwork, Pay It in Metal
had at least three covers, with the Mercury Records "Talking Banana"
U.S. version being the one generally associated with this ten-song 1978
release. As the group was taking a distinctly heavier, fuzzier, more
"metal" approach, perhaps this re-titling of Painkiller made good
business sense as it suggested the crunchier sound of Marc
Storace-fronted big-sellers like Metal Rendez-Vous and Headhunter.
Instead, Pay It in Metal is distinctly un-metallic, with original
vocalist Chris Von Rohr putting his best boogie foot forward on top of
Fernando Von Arb's up-beat blues-rock and Southern-fried riffs. The
hard-edged good-time rock on Pay It in Metal basically works, but
withers when compared to masters of the era like AC/DC -- a group Krokus
outwardly mimicked years later. Fans of '70s hard rock, curious about
the genre's second-tier artists, would do better purchasing a dozen
different April Wine and Triumph offerings before considering Pay It in
Metal.

Artist : Krokus Country : Switzerland Release : Rock The Block Year : 2003 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
My favorite Krokus album is still "Headhunter" but this album is
probably now my second favorite. It's style is quite different to
Headhunter in that it is more of a rock type metal album as compared to
the more traditional type metal album that Headhunter was. It sounds
more like the style of their earlier albums such as "Metal Rendezvous",
but it has a harder edge and more modern sound to it.
Some people
have been quite critical of Krokus in the past for having sound &
style too similar to AC/DC, but I am a huge AC/DC fan and whilst I
acknowledge that the sound and style is similar, I am not one of those
critics. I think such critical comparisons are probably made by those
who are not that familiar with the band, because I think Krokus have an
unmistakable "Krokus" sound and when I listen to them I always hear
Krokus, not AC/DC.

Artist : Krokus Country : Switzerland Release : Stampede Year : 1990 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
One of the most interesting recordings in the Krokus discography,
Stampede was not at all timely, but with its distinctly non-Krokus
lineup -- including the derivative but talented vocalist Peter Tanner --
this 1990 release works as well or better than many of the band's more
recognized offerings. Like his predecessor, Marc Storace, Tanner
supremely rips off an AC/DC vocalist. But there's a catch; on tracks
like the tragically titled "Rock and Roll Gypsy" the singer apes Brian
Johnson instead of Bon Scott (whom Storace plagiarized famously).

The Definitive Collection is a remastered, 15-track retrospective

Artist : Krokus Country : Switzerland Release : To Rock Or Not To Be [Reissue] Year : 1995 Genre : Hard Rock File Type : mp3 320 Info:
Krokus were a heavy-metal outfit from Switzerland in the mid-1970's.
They started to gain international fame with the addition of vocalist
Marc Storace in 1980. Their early 80's releases had a distinct AC/DC
sound to them. They finally found their niche with "Headhunter" then
totally blew it with their next release "The Blitz." Fortunately, they
moved away from the American pop metal sound and by 1987 began to sound
like the band that released such classics as "Hardware", "One Vice At A
Time" and "Headhunter".
