Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Guilty Pleasures
Year : 2001
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Quiet Riot's "Guilty pleasures" from 2001, is an album that easily could have been released 15 years earlier according to the sound and musical approach. Quiet Riot don't seem to be bothered with having their feet deep in the past while they deliver party metal in the same vein as they did on "Condition critical". In the opening "Vicious circle" they use the same vocal approach (on the verse) like they did on "Sign of the times", and their "Rock the house" is clearly inspired by Quiet Riot's old musical inspiration Slade - just listen to the pre-chorus and you can easily hear echoes of "[Come] on feel the noise". The outstanding song on this rather even album is "Shadow of love" with its melodic and catchy chorus. Then you get a couple of (power) ballads in between the faster tracks, and the whole effort ends with a acoustic tune - "Fly too high". You won't find anything new or modern on this release - it's just a solid QR album in the old tradition.

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Live!In The 21st Century
Year : 2003
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Quiet Riot broke out of LA's vibrant metal scene in 1983 with their crunching anthem Metal Health. Some 20 years later on Live! in the 21st Century, the group is still intact, and looking good for rockers in their mid 40's, fronted by the ever boisterous Kevin DuBrow, with colorful Rudy Sarzo on bass, and Frankie Banali bashing the drums. Guitarist Carlos Cavazo, who can still pass for an 80's version of The Monkees Mickey Dolenz, has lost none of his skills as a stringbender.

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Rehab
Year : 2006
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Remember that band who made it big in 1983 with Metal Health?? well their back and better than ever. This cd is everything which quiet riot is, was and wants to be.. The cd is very diverse in styles. whether it be the heavy-modernlike "Free" or the zeppelinesque "south of heaven" the guitar. Frankie banalis drums are amazing on this cd, and are very heavy and john bonamesque.. Kevins Vocals are another amazing point on this disc. his voice is just as good as it was 20 years ago and he can belt out those tunes..

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Super Hits
Year : 2006
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This may not be the most complete collection of Quiet Riot cuts since it's just 10 tracks long, but Super Hits is an enjoyable collection that should entertain those looking for an affordable blast of solid rock 'n roll from Quiet Riot. It's a fun intro for those who don't know the band.

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Metal Health [Remastered]
Year : 1983
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The first metal album to sell a million copies...had several things going for it. It had a clever title (although New England band THE FOOLS had beat them by two years with their platter HEAVY MENTAL), a Creature Feature-inspired mascot and future OZZY guitar hero RANDY RHODES was a former member. It also focused deserved attention on highly underrated Brit glitter rockers SLADE via QR's successful retread CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE (they also tackled SLADE's MAMA WEER ALL CRAZEE NOW on the follow up LP). Other than the titanic dumb-fun title track, the rest of the record is by-the-numbers sleaze rock along the lines of LOVE'S A BITCH, LET'S GET CRAZY and SLICK BLACK CADILLAC; the final track THUNDERBIRD is cliched even by power ballad standards. Front man KEVIN DUBROW's scratchy screech was hardly a match for his hair metal peers and the group lacked the colorful, flamboyant identity carved out by acts like TWISTED SISTER and POISON...which may explain their inability to maintain the surprise platinum status of METAL HEALTH.

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Quiet Riot II
Year : 1979
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Veteran hard rock band Quiet Riot has two claims to fame. One is their massively popular '83 album Metal Health, featuring the title track and the even more popular "Cum On Feel The Noize" (a cover of the British rock group Slade). The second claim to fame is that this is where acclaimed guitarist Randy Rhoads got his start, before making it big as Ozzy Osbourne's first lead guitarist and then tragically being killed in an accident a few years later. Often it is mistakenly written that Quiet Riot were the first metal band to go to #1 with their first album, but in fact Metal Health was their third, as the band released two albums in Japan with Rhoads in the late 70's -- his departure necesitated somewhat of a style change and Metal Health was the result. They were never able to duplicate that album's success, though they remained a popular live act for some time. For many years they were an on-again, off-again item, under various lineups, until 1999, at which time the classic Metal Health lineup came back together. That version survived until September 2003, when they announced their (presumably) final breakup. However, the duo of Kevin DuBrow and Frankie Banali decided to work together once again, and with a couple of hired guns in tow, recorded Rehab in 2006, reportedly a departure from the classic QR style, towards a more 70's rock sound. Sadly, that reformation came to an end in late 2007, with the unfortunate passing of DuBrow.

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Quiet Riot I
Year : 1978
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Quiet Riot were one of the more successful hard rock acts in Los Angeles in the mid to late 1970s. They often opened for Van Halen in several L.A. clubs including the Starwood and KROQ's Cabaret nightclub, before either act had a record deal. Nonetheless, Quiet Riot was unable to procure a recording contract in the United States. By 1977 they were able to secure a deal with Sony, but their records would be released only in Japan. The original four members recorded their debut album Quiet Riot, or QR I, in 1977.

Artist : Quiet Riot
Country : USA
Release : Quiet Riot [Remastered]
Year : 1988
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Despite the fact that they had one of the best-selling metal albums of the '80s (1983's massive hit Metal Health), it is probably true to say that Quiet Riot had much more success than they ever truly deserved. Metal Health's sales mostly derived from the band's cover of Slade's "Cum on Feel the Noise," success arguably more credited to good timing than to musical quality. Still, despite two unsuccessful follow-ups to Metal Health, Quiet Riot had yet to hit rock bottom, which would finally arrive in 1988. After years of tension, the group fired their vocalist, Kevin Dubrow, and replaced him with Paul Shortino for QR, the band's fourth U.S. release. Shortino sounds competent, but overall he lacks the general charisma of Dubrow. The real problem with the album, however, is the songs themselves, which are loaded with unmemorable lyrics and melodies. By now, it was obvious that the bandmembers were not skilled songwriters, but usually they managed to place a few guilty pleasures on their past releases, which is certainly not the case here. Unfortunately, the performances on QR make the album horribly faceless; the record shows a once-popular rock group trying to retain their glory days with a handful of disgustingly generic material. Not too surprisingly, the album was a complete critical and commercial bomb, and with just cause; this is by far Quiet Riot's weakest record of the '80s.

Info:

I always keep saying that I dislike demos bootlegs and live albums. Not so much about the track selectin and stuff...about the sound quality. I had these demos lying around for many years...Were requested so I tried to check if there is a beeter quality rip out there having no luck. So I thought to share them in case anyone else wants them...Clearly, not one of my favorites as half tracks sound bad while the rest sound just OK...but what the heck...you'll be the judge of that..!!

Release : Extended Versions

File Info : mp3 256

Info:

Consist of 10 songs, 2 of them (track 9 & 10 listed below) may be the ones that were on the Greatest Hits CD released in 1996. Slick Black Cadillac may be from the reissue/ remaster of 'Metal Health' that was released a few years back and the rest are unreleased live songs that were never officially released. I read years back (during the 80's)that Quiet Riot were going to release a live album. It never happened.
Here is the track listing:

Live from Pasadena Ca. 1983
1. Danger Zone
2. Run For Cover
3. Love's A Bitch
4. Anytime You Want Me
5. Cum On Feel The Noize
6. Slick Black Cadillac (possible from Metal Health reissue/remaster release)
7. Gonna Have A Riot
8. Breathless

Live from Nashville Tennessee 1983
9. Let's Get Crazy (believe this live recording was on Greatest Hits)
10. Bang Your Head (Metal Health) (also believe this was on their Greatest Hits CD)

Anyways, I like it, and I believe anyone that is or was into Quiet Riot and likes live recordings won't be disappointed.
