The 14th studio album from venerable German power metal outfit
Helloween kicks off with the blistering "Nabatea," a typically
ambitious, seven-minute epic concerning a kingdom of nomadic,
Mediterranean, peace-loving folks swallowed up by the Roman Empire in AD
106. From there, truncated history lessons are put on the back burner
in favor of a more traditional, Keeper of the Seven Keys-era Helloween
approach, offering up immaculate blasts of impossibly tuneful,
power/neo-classical metal with humor ("Asshole"), apocalyptic glee
("World of War"), and an unapologetic love for all things Iron Maiden
("Far from the Stars"). Brighter, broader, and a good deal lighter in
tone than 2010's ominous 7 Sinners, Straight Out of Hell.

A great album for seriose singers like my myself ride the sky and how
many tears were perfect except for one little part on the second verse
where kai double tracked his vocal if the could have left the higher
pitched part of his vocal in it would have been better but besides that
arrangements are perfect and tommy hansen remix makes those two tracks
sound for better than the original mixes. next up we have future world
which is perfect to me especially since I thought michael kiskes vocal
delivery on the song lacked feeling and on that song and every other
song that kai wrote well he was with helloween as I think kai is a much
better singer now and he was then as well The only down side to me on
that song as at the end to much the backround vocals were not mixed loud
enough.

This double Best Of CD is a wonderful collection of some of the
greatest songs ever recorded by Helloween. The songs included are the
best known and some of the most epic material of the band's 15 year
career (old songs-remastered).

The Best, The Rest, and The Rare was originally released in 1991 as a
way for Helloween to fulfill their obligations to BMG and Noise, for the
band and Noise were in a lengthy lawsuit that put Helloween on ice for 3
years. The Best...includes highlights from Helloween's early recordings
and is a good way for a new listener to get a feel for the band's
earlier work. For the seasoned Helloween fan, four hard-to-find tracks
are included on The Best, hence The Rare. Included are the b-sides
Livin' Ain't No Crime, Savage (Why this song didn't make it on the
Keeper II album is beyond me), the Michael Kiske version of Victim of
Fate, and Don't Run For Cover. These four songs are hard to find
separately on the singles they originally appeared, but this is an
economical, easy way to get these songs. Worth the money for these four
tracks alone.
