Artist : Whitesnake
Country : UK
Release : Snakebite
Year : 1978
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

If you dig Classic Rock but always thought that Whitesnake was too bubble-gum metal for you, then this is the right album to listen to and have a better opinion of the band.
SNAKEBITE is probably the least comercially sucessful album of Coverdale's band, but for me it is the most charming. It includes 8 good songs. Only the 4 first songs were actually performed by Whitesnake, the band that included the former Purple Jon Lord and the guitarrist Bernie Marsden. The last four songs belong to Coverdale's second solo album, NORTH WINDS, recorded some months earlier, and probably were included because: 1) they fit in the context; 2) they were the best material Coverdale had to offer. Produced by Roger Glover and with the precious help of Micky Moody on guitar, the final half of SNAKEBITE is the best and most mature music Coverdale has ever sung.

Artist : Whitesnake
Country : UK
Release : Lovehunter [Remastered]
Year : 1979
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

"Lovehunter" opens with the groovy blues-rock of "Long Way From Home", and the classic, swaggering "Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues" - perhaps David Coverdale's best composition, and certainly one of his best and most mature lyrics.
Other highlights include the foot-stomping "Rock 'N' Roll Women", which is precisely as clichéd as it sounds, and the supremely funky title track, which features some fiery slide guitar from Mickey Moody. And "You 'N' Me" is a pretty solid rocker as well.

Info:

This is one of those rare collections that is pleasing to listen to song after song uninterrupted. David Coverdales' fabulously rich rhythm and blues voice wails, cajoles, howls, pleads and projects a lusty yearning for women that we love to hear. His unique vocal is backed up by the phenominally talented cast of musicians that can bring very sophisticated rock sound rolling on and on (John Sykes (guitar), Steve Vai (guitar), Adrian Vandenberg (guitar), Micky Moody (guitar), Rudy Sarzo (bass), Neil Murray (bass), Jon Lord (keyboards/organ), Tommy Aldridge (drums), Aynsley Dunbar (drums), Ian Paice (drums), Cozy Powell (drums), etc).

Artist : Whitesnake
Country : UK
Release : Here I Go Again: The Whitesnake Collection
Year : 2002
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 VBR

Info:

2002's two-CD Whitesnake compilation Here I Go Again: The Whitesnake Collection assembles remastered versions of all three of the band's biggest albums for Geffen -- 1984's Slide It In, 1987's blockbuster Whitesnake, and 1989's Slip of the Tongue -- as well as non-album mixes and B-sides. When vocalist David Coverdale first formed the band, Whitesnake didn't meet with much success in America; Slide It In changed that. It had a sleazy charm with killer tracks like the title cut, "Slow an' Easy," "Spit It Out," and the melodic, explosive "Love Ain't No Stranger." Whitesnake was a smash, and deservedly so thanks to the songs Coverdale and guitarist John Sykes wrote; it was more calculated and slick than Slide It In, but there's no denying the quality of "Here I Go Again," "Is This Love," or the Led Zeppelin homage/rip-off (you decide) "Still of the Night." The flaccid radio mix of "Here I Go Again" is included. The single version of "Give Me All Your Love" isn't as drastically removed from the original. The outtakes "You're Gonna Break My Heart Again," "Looking for Love," and "Sweet Lady Luck" appeared on 1994's Greatest Whitesnake. "Need Your Love So Bad," a Little Willie John cover, was a B-side with just Coverdale and keyboardist Bill Cuomo. Slip of the Tongue was largely a disaster. Since Adrian Vandenberg had suffered from a bizarre injury, hired gun Steve Vai played all the guitar parts and his flashy, technically gifted style overpowered the formula. The re-recording of "Fool for Your Loving" is a catchy exception. "The Deeper the Love" and "Judgement Day" are OK, but they ultimately suffer from trying to re-create Whitesnake. "Sailing Ships" does have a sincere majesty. For convenience and completeness, Here I Go Again: The Whitesnake Collection is a worthwhile set.
