Artist : Rhapsody
Country : Italy
Release : The Dark Secret
Year : 2004
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The EP starts off with "Unholy Warcry" and immediatley we are greeted by the booming bassy voice of Christopher Lee. I have to say, IT’S ABOUT TIME! Rhapsody always had the stupidest voice acting on their albums. They’ve fixed this problem for good now. This man is a trained singer and narrator, he easily complements this music in a way that is truly spectacular. It’s good to see that Luca and Alex addressed a problem with their past records in such a great way. Lee will be doing many narrations on the final album and it should be spectacular. The song itself is similar to Dawn of Victory era music. While most fans think that this is their weakest album, I cannot see why. The riff is epic and mighty with Holzwarth pounding the holy hell out of his drums and Lione using all of his vocal tricks to tell us about Dargor’s resurrection. "Thunder’s Mighty Roar shows the band taking a harsher approach to the music.

Artist : Rhapsody
Country : Italy
Release : Symphony Of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret
Year : 2004
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

This is Rhapsody's latest release. It is a concept album, which sounds somewhat like a movie soundtrack. I will explain the storyline in the track by track. This album is filled with many symphonic instruments, classical solos, operatic backing vocals, and a lot of double bass from Alex Holzworth. Actor Christopher Lee, who plays Saruman in the Lord of the Rings movies, does most of the narrations.

Artist : Rhapsody
Country : Italy
Release : Rain Of A Thousand Flames
Year : 2001
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The content of "Rain Of A Thousand Flames" prepares the way for the fourth and last part of the 'Emerald Sword saga' which will be released in early 2002. Worth a special mention is the fact that Rhapsody have never before integrated the sounds of their native tongue, Italian, into the songs. “The beautiful sound of Italian really suits this kind of music and apart from that, we could of course express our feelings better in our native language,” Turilli explains and promised that the band will be setting off on an extensive European tour in spring 2002.

Artist : Rhapsody
Country : Italy
Release : Power Of The Dragonflame
Year : 2002
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Although the band has only been releasing records since 1997, Rhapsody has been one of the, if not thee biggest and most influential "epic metal" bands to grace the music industry. Hell, even if you're not an epic metal fan, if you look past that you'll also see one of the most talented metal bands period. The band creates climactic, epic songs full of adventure, which are captivating and exciting. In 2002, they released their fifth album "Power of the Dragonflame" which ends the Emerald Sword saga.
With the opening track "In Tenebris" leading the series of events off, it's easy to tell the album has much more to offer you than music or vocals, but also an epic journey. "Knightrider of Doom", "Power of the Dragonflame", and "The March of the Swordmaster" are fast paced and get the album moving along at an incredible rate. These three songs single handedly make this album a success (as far as the story line is concerned anyway.) As the album and story progress, you reach a climax and that would have to be "When Demons Awake". With the amazing guitar and keyboard solo in the middle of the song, you can tell the confrontation takes place and the victors are crowned.

Artist : Rhapsody
Country : Italy
Release : Holy Thunderforce
Year : 2000
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Holy Thunderforce: A fairly typical, fast Rhapsody song.
Dargor, Shadowmaster Of The Black Mountain: One of Rhapsody's heavier songs. The best of the three included on this EP, it presents a good structure that includes both melodic choruses and solid riffs, with nice harpsichord, flute, synth, piano, and violin portions.
Rage Of The Winter (Symphonic Version): This brings us back to the climactic choral/orchestral compostitions of Symphony Of Enchanted Lands.
If I were to ignore my bias against the purpose of singles, I'd say this was at least a good representation of Dawn Of Victory.

TRACKLIST:

Artist : Rhapsody
Country : Italy
Release : Legendary Tales
Year : 1997
Genre : Heavy Metal
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

Some melodic metal performers are often blamed because they just try to impress people with their outstanding ability to play fast while they forget composition and feelings. With Rhapsdoy you get both ingredients, and at their best level. This is very good heavy metal with a strong classical influence. The instruments are incredibly diverse (violins, viola, cello, piano, accoustic and electric guitars, contra bass, harp, flute...) and finely orchestrated.
