To Beast Or Not To Beast was recorded fall 2012 at WireWorld Studio in
Nashville, TN with renowned producer Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy
Osbourne, Skid Row, Dokken, Raven, Megadeth). The CD will mark the
recording debut of LORDI's new members, keyboardist Hella (replacing
Awa) and drummer Mana (replacing Otus). The road to this album has truly
been paved by hardships, Mr. Lordi says. However, the new line-up of
the band has given us new and fresh touch and an energetic edge to the
recording process, and to the album itself.

Lordi, the finnish monster rockers are the new Kiss, but more extreme.
Playing melodic hard rock and heavy metal, they receantly took the
world over by surprise by winning the 2006 Eurovision Pop Song Contest.
This is a combination of their first two CD's: Get Heavy and The
Monsterican Dream. The Monster Show starts off with the rightfully named
Theatrical Trailer, introducing the band, then paving the way for Bring
It On! Blood Red Sandman stomps it's way next, followed by the melodic
My Heaven Is Your Hell. The beautiful Would You Love a Monsterman
quickly captivates you next with it's awesome guitar riffs and Mr.
Lordi's raspy vocals. Following is the classic riproaring Devil is a
Loser. The piano ballad Icon Of Dominance is next, silently giving way
to the haunting Children of The Night. Shotgun Divorce delivers the
kicks, and the wacky Forsaken Fashion Dolls really make you wonder about
those fashion freaks. Wake The Snake slithers in next with a
bang,chanting the way for Rock The Hell Outta You.

Deadache is an A1 example of just how rocking and spooky Lordi can be.
The anthems hit with the impact of Annie Wilkes's sledgehammer, the
ballads soar on Dracula's leather wings, and a pervading sense of gloom
drapes the album like so many cobwebs in Ma Bate's fruit cellar.
Anyone
unfamilliar with Lordi beyond their victory at 2006's Eurovision
competition will probably only know them by their game-winning single,
"Hard Rock Hallelujah". Forget that song, because it is completely
destroyed by Deadache's lead single, 'Bite It Like A Bulldog'. This song
has balls that scrape the floorboards, barely avoiding the grasp of
that cellar witch from Evil Dead 2. Like any Lordi song, 'Bite It Like A
Bulldog' relies heavily on it's chorus/melody. The difference here is a
heavy, thudding bassline that transforms the track from merely catchy
to addictive. The lyrics also are above Mr.Lordi's usual standard as
well, and the vocal melody is tighter than the bolts on Frankenstein's
monster.

The songs on the CD all have great music backing Lordi's impressive
vocal range. The fact that they're all dressed like McFarlane toys just
reflects their over-the-top music. I highly reccomnend rock/metal fans
to check this CD out: You won't be sorry!
