Let’s see…DIVING FOR PEARLS fifteen plus years later came out with a
killer LP in 2005. Now we have TRIXIE who self-titled debut album was
recorded back in 1989. I thought BOSTON was the only band that did that
kind of stuff. Well, I guess there is a resurgence of past high-potency
bands. Lead vocalist Ronnie Borchert takes hold of his debut production
powers on this one.
His vocals are amazing sounding like vintage
Vince Neil MOTLEY CRUE. The opening song “The Touch” will stun you by
the voltage that is put out by TRIXIE. You can call it want you want
TRIXIE will knock your socks off with their eighties-style metal. If I
had to compare TRIXIE to another band I would say they are MOTLEY CRUE
mixed with BON JOVI. You tell me when you hear “Love Me Now” you don’t
here a hint of Jon Bon Jovi.

Ronnie Borchert and the boys are back with their third installment of
their signature hybrid sound of Motley Crue meets Def Leppard. “Shelter”
is Trixie’s best album to date and the production, courtesy of Ronnie,
is equal to, if not better than his work with Miss Crazy. This cd
features some great rockin songs with choruses and guitars solos a
plenty and some very cool surprises throughout. This is high-class,
melodic, hair metal at its absolute best. Take a listen to their first
single “Hell Yeah” and you’ll hear what Trixie is all about.

Trixie delivers the sound that you just don't get from other rock
bands anymore. The S/T album is a very cleanly, professionally produced
record with plenty of catchy choruses and melodies that you will be
humming to yourself all day long. Ronnie Borchert sounds a lot like
Vince Neil in his prime and the production style is right on point,
Borchert is obviously a man of many talents as this album clearly
demonstrates. If you love GOOD rock music then pick this album up, I
have had it for several months and it has not left my CD player yet!
Thanks to Trixie for keeping this sound alive and well!
