Artist : Stryper
Country : USA
Release : 7: The Best Of Stryper
Year : 2003
Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

"Seven-The Best of Stryper" is the most comprehensive overview of the band's career to date. Unlike the previous compilation, 1991's "Can't Stop The Rock", every song on "Seven" was hand-picked by the members of Stryper themselves. Because of this, "Seven" includes classics that best define Stryper's music and ministry. Most of the band's best known songs are featured here including "Calling On You", "Free", "Always There For You", "Reach Out", "Soldiers Under Command", "From Wrong To Right", "To Hell With the Devil" and their beloved ballad "Honestly". Songs from their lesser-known period are included as well such as their cover of Earth, Wind and Fire's "Shining Star", "Lady" and their 1991 anthem "Believe".
The greatest news about this CD is that it includes two brand new songs recorded by the original Stryper line-up, it's first new material in 12 years! Both "Something" and "For You" display a mature sound and clearly show that even after not playing together for 12 years, the band still can heat it up.

Artist Origin : USA
Release Title : The Yellow And Black Attack (Reissue)
Release Year : 1984
Artist Genre : Hard Rock
File Type : mp3 320

Info:

The Yellow and Black Attack is the first release from the Christian metal band Stryper. No singles were released from this six-song EP, and fewer than 20,000 copies were pressed, as their label, Enigma Records, was unsure of the potential market for Christian metal. CCM Magazine was slightly critical, citing production quality and the short length of the release, but commented that "Stryper has the promise of a major success story.
After Stryper achieved major success with their debut full-length album, Soldiers Under Command, The Yellow and Black Attack EP was reissued. Re-released on August 10, 1986 with two additional songs, "Reason for the Season" (which was originally released on a 1985 Christmas-themed 12" single with "Winter Wonderland") and a new, mellowed-down version of "My Love I'll Always Show", which dates from their Roxx Regime days. The version recorded for The Yellow and Black Attack featured less obvious Christian lyrics than the one to feature on The Roxx Regime Demos. Additionally, the original six tracks were remixed, with a major reduction in reverb the most notable change.
Even though The Yellow and Black Attack was originally an EP, critics now consider it to be a full album, their second album. Nevertheless, their next release, Soldiers Under Command is still regarded as the band's full-length debut.

Flashback to 1983 and the band is named Roxx Regime. In an attempt to get a record deal, the band puts together a demo tape and is subsequently signed to a deal with Enigma Records. Once the deal was ready to sign, the band changed their name to Stryper and the rest is history! This is supposedly the original demo with no overdubs and/or re-recordings. What you get on this disc is a band that is very polished and energetic for a new set of rockers. The quality of the recordings are raw and harder than their commercially released counterparts. It’s pretty good for a demo, very listenable.
Five of the first six songs (‘My Love I’ll Always Show’ being the exception), ended up on the original E.P., THE YELLOW AND BLACK ATTACK (1984). That E.P., along with ‘My Love I’ll Always Show’, and a new song called ‘Reason For The Season’, were re-released as a full album under the same name in 1986 on Hollywood Records after their second album, SOLDIERS UNDER COMMAND (1985) went gold in the U.S.
This version of ‘Honestly’ pre-dates the 1986 version from TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL and it is of poor quality. It could just be the recording because this is damn close to the album version, including the harmonies. The drum solo by Robert Sweet, ‘Tank’, is a throwaway…..I never consider Robert Sweet when the conversation turns to great drummers and I’m not going to start now. Plus, it’s only 44 seconds long!
