2000's Free the Dream is the third album from Danish melodic rock band Prime Time, which was made up of former members of Narita, Royal Hunt and Elegy (former Elegy frontman Eduard Hovinga started the band).
Prime Time's sound is fairly straightforward AOR/melodic rock. It's a little on the wimpy side, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when the music is this smooth. The band is definitely a tier down from bands like Harem Scarem, Fair Warning and Gotthard, but you can tell they share the same influences.
Highlights of Free the Dream are the super-catchy single "Forever You and I" and the very pretty instrumental "Spanish Fly", but the whole album is pretty solid. Hovinga's vocals take some getting used to. He doesn't reach Mark Boals level, but he still hits some higher octaves at times.
